Privacy Policy

WaitScout (“we”, “us”) is an unofficial Walt Disney World® companion app for live ride wait times, planning, and a personal bucket list. WaitScout is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Walt Disney Company. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Information we collect
- Account. You can use WaitScout with an anonymous account or sign in with Apple. With Sign in with Apple we receive a stable identifier; we never receive your password. If you hide your email, we never see it.
- Your activity in the app. Bucket-list check-offs, ratings, notes, trips, saved places, and alert preferences you create, stored against your account so they sync and persist.
- Photos. If you add a photo to an item, it is uploaded to our storage and tied to your account. Photos are private to you unless you explicitly choose to share one.
- Location. With your permission, we use your device location only while you’re using the app to show your position on the map and detect which park you’re in. Coarse current-park presence may be sent to our server to deliver park-scoped alerts. We do not track your location in the background and do not sell location data.
- Notifications. If you enable alerts, your device’s push token is stored so we can send the alerts you asked for.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed via RevenueCat; we receive your subscription status, never your card details.
- Diagnostics & usage. Basic, privacy-respecting analytics about feature usage to improve the app. We do not log the content of your searches.
How we use information
To provide and sync your bucket list, planning, and alerts; show live waits, maps, and weather; deliver the notifications you enable; process subscriptions; and improve the app. We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and WaitScout contains no ads.
Third-party services
- Apple WeatherKit — weather forecasts (subject to Apple’s privacy policy).
- Supabase — our backend database/storage processor.
- RevenueCat — subscription management.
- themeparks.wiki — source of public ride status/wait data.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your account data until you delete it. You can delete your account and associated data from within the app (Settings), which removes your profile, progress, photos, and tokens. You may also email us to request deletion.
Children
WaitScout is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Your rights
You may access, correct, or delete your data. Contact us for any privacy request.
